Vemal has teamed up with Bose Venkat for their upcoming project titled ‘Ma Po Si’. The first look poster was recently revealed by the production team. However, the film has encountered a setback due to its title, which is inspired by the renowned politician Mylai Ponnuswamy Sivagnanam, also known as Ma Po Si.
Parameshwari, the granddaughter of Mylai Ponnuswamy Sivagnanam, took to social media to express her concerns regarding the film’s title. She questioned the ‘Ma Po Si’ team’s decision to use her grandfather’s name without consulting the family.
She criticized their claim that the movie is not about the veteran politician. Parameshwari also voiced her disappointment with the team’s approach to naming their film without reaching out to the family for permission.
Bose Venkat is helming ‘Ma Po Si’, with Vetrimaaran serving as the presenter, and Siraj S producing it under his SSS Pictures banner.
Siddhu Kumar has taken on the role of music composer for the film, while Kannan MK is serving as the executive producer. Interestingly, this isn’t Vemal’s first time portraying a teacher on screen; he previously essayed a similar role in the movie ‘Vaagai Sooda Vaa’.
