The All India Suriya Fans Club has dismissed speculation about actor Suriya entering politics, stating that he remains focused on social service through the Agaram Foundation.
The clarification was issued after comments made by former fan club member Veeramani at a recent office-bearers’ meeting went viral on social media. In the circulating video, Veeramani suggested that the time had come for Suriya to emerge as a people’s leader, sparking widespread discussion about the actor’s political future.
In its statement, the fan association stressed that Veeramani was expressing his personal opinion and that his remarks did not represent the organisation’s official position. It also accused certain social media users of presenting the speech in a misleading manner.
The association further noted that Veeramani has not held any administrative role in the organisation for the past three years.
Reaffirming Suriya’s priorities, the association said the actor continues to dedicate himself to educational and social welfare initiatives through the Agaram Foundation, which recently completed 15 years of service. It also requested fans and the media to rely only on official communications issued by the association’s authorised representatives.
Meanwhile, Veeramani has released a separate video reiterating that his comments reflected only his personal views and were not connected to the fan organisation.
