Actor Vishnu Vishal has responded to criticism over comments he made during the promotions of his upcoming film ‘Gatta Kusthi 2’, clarifying that his statements were misunderstood.
Speaking to the media, the actor explained that he had only repeated the manner in which Rajinikanth himself had referred to Vijay during an earlier interaction. He said there was no intention to disrespect either actor and that his comments were aimed solely at highlighting the growing negativity on social media.
Vishnu added that online rumours often force film personalities to issue unnecessary clarifications, citing previous instances involving Rajinikanth and Vijay. According to him, his remarks were about the toxic nature of online discussions rather than a comparison between the two stars.
He maintained that he stood by his original statement, as his intention was to address social media hostility and not to offend anyone.
