After Dhanush announced that he is starring in Ilaiyaraaja’s biopic, there were rumours that veteran actor Sathyaraj is all set to play the role of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his biopic.
However, Sathyaraja has now clarified, “No one has ever approached me to play the role of Prime Minister Modi. The news is new to me. This news has been spread by someone deliberately. Legendary actor MR Radha was an atheist but he played theist roles in many films. So, I will think if there is an opportunity to play the character of PM Modi.”
This is not the first time PM Modi’s life has been dramatised for the screen.
In 2019, a biographical drama titled ‘PM Narendra Modi’ starred Vivek Oberoi in the titular role and was directed by Omung Kumar.
The film explored Modi’s journey from his early days to his tenure as the Prime Minister of India.
