Actor Dhanush spent time with fans who gathered outside his residence on Tuesday to celebrate his birthday, making a surprise appearance that delighted those waiting for hours.
He initially acknowledged the crowd from his balcony with folded hands before stepping outside to interact with them. Dhanush greeted supporters, shook hands with several fans and joined them in cutting a birthday cake amid loud cheers.
The celebration comes at a time when speculation about the actor’s political future continues to grow. Recent remarks made during a fan event in Tiruvallur, where he spoke about using the strength of his fan base for social causes, along with the unveiling of a fan club flag, have sparked discussions about a possible political entry. However, neither Dhanush nor his representatives have made any official announcement on the matter.
On the work front, Dhanush is preparing for his next collaboration with director Vetri Maaran in the upcoming film ‘Thamizh Murugan’. The project reunites the duo after successful films including ‘Polladhavan’, ‘Aadukalam’, ‘Vada Chennai’ and ‘Asuran’. The story has been written by Arivumathi, while Sai Abhyankkar is composing the music. The makers are yet to announce the film’s release date.
The actor also has another big-ticket project, tentatively titled ‘OM’, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. Featuring Mammootty, Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela in key roles alongside Dhanush, the film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 16, 2026.
