‘Parasakthi’, a revered name in Tamil cinema due to the iconic 1952 Sivaji Ganesan classic, had become a point of contention between Vijay Antony’s upcoming film and Sivakarthikeyan’s much-anticipated 25th project.
In a recent interview, Vijay Antony addressed the confusion, stating that the overlap was ‘unintentional’.
He explained that while his production house, Vijay Antony Pictures, had already registered the Telugu title ‘Parashakthi’ (with a slight spelling variation) and the Tamil title ‘Sakthi Thirumagan’ for his 25th film, Sivakarthikeyan’s team later announced their film, directed by Sudha Kongara, with the title ‘Parasakthi’ for both Tamil and Telugu versions.
“This kind of confusion can happen because there are two or three different title registration associations,” Vijay Antony explained, highlighting the procedural complexities in the industry.
He further revealed that Sivakarthikeyan’s team approached him, requesting him to relinquish the title, as it had already gained significant public recognition in association with their project.
‘I agreed to give up the title without any issues. It was all resolved smoothly,’ he stated, emphasizing the cordial nature of the agreement.
