Actress Trisha Krishnan has issued a strong legal statement condemning “distasteful” remarks made by Tamil Nadu BJP Chief Nainar Nagendran.
The controversy erupted after Nagendran made personal references to Trisha while criticizing actor-politician Vijay during a political event.
Through her lawyer, Nithyaesh Natraj, Trisha made it clear that she is not affiliated with any political party and intends to remain neutral.
“Disrespect should and always will be called out,” she shared on social media, demanding that her name not be dragged into political mudslinging.
The legal statement emphasized that Trisha wishes to be defined only by her craft and that her identity should not be used as a tool in political contests.
The move has received widespread support from the film fraternity and women leaders across political lines.
Trisha has called for a respectful discourse in public life, insisting that a celebrity’s privacy and dignity must be treated as sacred. Meanwhile, Nainar has expressed regret over his comments.
