Actor Suriya has offered an explanation for his latest popular title, ‘The One’, saying the phrase represents unity rather than an individual identity.

The actor, previously celebrated by fans as ‘Nadippin Nayagan’, embraced the new moniker following his collaboration with director Karthik Subbaraj in ‘Retro’ (2025).

Speaking at a pre-release event for his upcoming film ‘Scene’, Suriya said he did not view the title as a personal tag or something that belonged exclusively to him.

He explained that the phrase reflects the idea that people are connected and that its true meaning emerges when everyone is included.

According to Suriya, ‘The One’ is not about elevating a single person but about recognising collective unity.

The actor’s remarks have added a deeper meaning to the title, which has become a talking point among his fans following the release of ‘Retro’.

Suriya is currently gearing up for the release of ‘Scene’, directed by Jithu Madhavan, which is scheduled to arrive in theatres for Diwali.
