Suriya’s upcoming collaboration with ‘Romancham’ and ‘Aavesham’ filmmaker Jithu Madhavan has officially been titled ‘Scene’. Zhagaram Studios, the production house owned by Suriya and Jyotika, unveiled the title through a teaser on Wednesday.

The project had already generated strong curiosity ever since Suriya and Jithu Madhavan were confirmed to be joining hands. The title teaser has now added another layer of excitement, with its unusual tone and glimpses of Suriya suggesting a film that could be markedly different from his recent outings.

The teaser has caught the attention of viewers for its distinct visual style and the intensity surrounding Suriya’s character. It appears that the actor has immersed himself in Jithu Madhavan’s world, seemingly giving the filmmaker considerable room to present him in an unconventional manner.

Joining the growing excitement, Suriya’s ‘Vishwanath and Sons’ director Venky Atluri praised the teaser on social media. He described it as a high-energy glimpse and expressed his anticipation for the film’s theatrical release on November 6.

‘Scene’ also features Nazriya Nazim and Naslen in important roles. One of the talking points following the teaser launch has been speculation that Naslen could be portraying the antagonist.

A brief glimpse of a character holding a lollipop has fuelled the theory among fans. Viewers have also attempted to connect the appearance with Naslen’s look seen in a recent behind-the-scenes video from the film.

Suriya’s last widely recognised non-star-driven outing was the 2021 courtroom drama ‘Jai Bhim’. In the years since, the actor has largely appeared in mainstream commercial projects including ‘Etharkkum Thunindhavan’, ‘Kanguva’, ‘Karuppu’ and ‘Vishwanath and Sons’.

His collaboration with Karthik Subbaraj, ‘Retro’, was expected to offer a more character-oriented presentation. While the film received mixed critical and commercial reactions, it was reported to have performed strongly at the box office.

With ‘Scene’, expectations are now centred on whether Jithu Madhavan can bring out a different side of Suriya and make the actor’s performance the core attraction rather than relying primarily on conventional star elements. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on November 6.
