Soori’s latest film ‘Mandaadi’, directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, has opened in theatres and is generating positive reactions from sections of the audience.
The film’s climax, particularly its boat sequence, has emerged as one of the portions drawing attention from viewers. The early response has also prompted fellow actors Sivakarthikeyan and Vishnu Vishal to extend their wishes to Soori and the team.
Sivakarthikeyan took to X to celebrate the response to the movie. He praised Soori’s dedication and perseverance, expressing happiness that the actor’s sustained efforts were receiving recognition.
The two actors share a long association, having appeared together in films such as ‘Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam’ and ‘Don’. Their last acting collaboration was ‘Prince’ in 2022, while Sivakarthikeyan later backed Soori’s ‘Kottukkaali’ as its producer.
Soori has undergone a notable transformation in recent years, moving beyond the comedy roles that established him as a popular actor. His performance in Vetri Maaran’s ‘Viduthalai Part 1’ marked an important phase in his transition towards more serious and demanding characters.
Sivakarthikeyan also used the occasion to send his best wishes to the team of ‘Sardar 2’, featuring Karthi in the lead and directed by P. S. Mithran.
Vishnu Vishal, meanwhile, congratulated Soori and highlighted the consistency required to remain relevant in the highly competitive film industry. He said he was delighted to hear the positive feedback surrounding ‘Mandaadi’.
The movie features Suhas, Mahima Nambiar, Sathyaraj, Mithun Jai Sankar, Ravindravjay, Bala Saravanan and Stun Siva among others.
Elred Kumar has produced the film and has also worked on the screenplay along with R. Mohanavasanthan and Thiral Sankar.
The technical team includes composer G. V. Prakash Kumar, cinematographer S. R. Kathir, editor Pradeep E. Ragav and production designer DRK Kiran. The action choreography has been handled by Peter Hein, Dhilip Subbarayan and Mahesh Mathew.
With encouraging word-of-mouth emerging after its theatrical release, ‘Mandaadi’ is now expected to see its audience response grow over the coming days.
