The festival got its name as “Deepavali” which is a mix of two words.
Deep – Meaning light
Aawali – Row of lights
This is how it became “Deepavali”. ![]()
Darkness in any place is dispelled with the help of a light or lamp.
Similarly, these festivals signify that, we should remove all the darkness of our lives starting from our own mind, thoughts, hearts, words and actions.
The festival celebration generally starts by 3am in the morning, when we all take our oil bath, wear new clothes and light the lamps all around the house and burn crackers so that, the whole darkness in the atmosphere that time of the morning gets lit up.
We all are born and blessed with intelligence to use our brain and perform our activities with good intention.
Let us all together remove the darkness around us. Let us not leave it to someone else to do it.
We have enough darkness surrounding us by way of pandemic, threat of World War III, Nuclear weapons, floods, Earthquake and other natural calamities.
We are responsible for this. We have created these darkness around us.
Let us get over this darkness by lighting a lamp in all our thoughts and action, towards peace, love, health, humility, care for neighbour, care for society, care for atmosphere, care for environment, togetherness, support the under privileged, shed hatred, shed selfishness.
It is our Universe and let us use it to our advantage in a healthy manner, keeping in mind the future generation and all our actions tuned, towards a sustainable cause.
