Women power

Gatta Kusthi

– Review

Aishwarya Lekshmi has been fond of wrestling right from her childhood. She goes to tournaments along with her father and eventually becomes state wrestling champion.
However, she is put in a situation where she agrees to get married. Here marriage takes place with Vishnu Vishal, who believes that women are below men and wife should obey the orders of the husband.
What happens after they get married and what Vishnu does after he finds out that his wife is a wrestler. How Aishwarya handles the situation forms the rest of the story.
Director Chella Ayyavu has ensured that the movie is engaging and fast-paced, with enough entertaining elements and suspense.
The interval sequence of the movie is one of the best in recent times. Vishnu Vishal delivers a natural performance as a narrow minded person.
His screen presence is one of the major positives of the movie. His comedy portions have also come out well.
Aishwarya Lekshmi is the heart and soul of the movie. She has lived as her character and has excelled in it. The way she tackles the problems after marriage are convincing and believable.
She is graceful in the action sequences as well. The chemistry between the lead pair is neat. Rest of the cast have also performed their part well.
Justin Prabhakaran’s music is quite impressive. Richard M Nathan’s camerawork is neat.
Rating: 4/5
