Revenge cop drama
DSP
– Review
Vijay Sethupathi lives a happy life with his friends and family in Dindigul.
Just before his sister’s marriage Vijay Sethupathi has an altercation with a local goon.
A senior cop advises him to leave the town and save himself.
Following his advice, Vijay Sethupathi leaves for Chennai.
However, he returns as the district’s DSP and takes on the goon who has now become an MLA.
Who wins this battle forms the core plot of the story.
Director Ponram takes his own sweet time to get to the core plot of the movie.
Though the screenplay gets better as the movie progresses, the story has nothing new to offer.
Vijay Sethupathi delivers a natural performance as usual. However, there are not enough mass moments which is expected from a film of this genre.
Anukeerthy comes as a typical female lead and does not have much to do. Prabakar looks menacing as the antagonist.
Dinesh Krishnan’s camerawork follows the temple commercial formula. D Imman’s music is functional.
