The Andhra Pradesh Government has announced the naming of the Government School of Music & Dance in Nellore as Dr. S P Balasubrahmanyam Government School of Music & Dance.
The singer’s son SP Charan thanked the Andhra Government and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for this honour. Also, fans of SPB are expecting the Tamil Nadu government to rename a music school or college after him.
It must be noted that recently a dubbing studio in Chennai was named after SPB and it was inaugurated by actor Radha Ravi, who’s the president of the dubbing artists union.
Balasubrahmanyam breathed his last at a hospital in Chennai on September 25. He was 74. He was diagnosed with Covid-19, and faced numerous fluctuating health issues for over a month, before passing away. He was laid to rest with State honours at his farmhouse near Chennai.
