Vikram and director Anand Shankar’s ‘Chiyaan 63’ begins production
Actor Vikram is reportedly back on set for his next project, tentatively titled ‘Chiyaan 63’, directed by filmmaker Anand Shankar. While an official announcement is still awaited, reports suggest that filming commenced on Sunday, marking the actor’s return to work following the release of ‘Veera Dheera Sooran’ earlier this year.
The upcoming film reunites Vikram with Anand Shankar nearly a decade after their previous collaboration, ‘Iru Mugan’. The project was formally announced last month through a promotional video that offered a glimpse into Vikram’s character. The teaser hinted at a man leading a double life—appearing to be a chef on the surface while carrying a deeper connection to the criminal underworld.
Riya Shibu has been signed as the female lead, making her debut in Tamil cinema. Interestingly, she is associated with HR Pictures, the production house behind Vikram’s ‘Veera Dheera Sooran’.
The screenplay has been written by Anand Shankar, with dialogues penned by Shan Karuppusamy. Music for the film will be composed by Santhosh Narayanan, who reunites with Vikram after their collaboration on ‘Mahaan’.
The technical team includes cinematographer RD Rajasekar, editor Raymond Derrick Crasta, production designer Rajeevan and art director Surya Rajeevan. There is also speculation that veteran actors MS Bhaskar and Urvashi may be part of the cast in significant roles.
The film is being produced by TG Thyagarajan under the Sathya Jyothi Films banner, with Senthil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan serving as producers. G Saravanan and Sai Siddharth are attached to the project as co-producers.
