Trisha Krishnan made a graceful appearance at Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s first Independence Day function in Chennai, opting for a traditional saree for the occasion.
The actor later shared photographs from the event and revealed an especially personal detail about her outfit: the saree was originally owned by her mother, Uma Krishnan.
Trisha paired the yellow crepe silk saree, which featured a floral border, with a green blouse embellished with zari detailing. She chose a classic drape and kept her accessories and makeup relatively understated.
Her hairstyle featured a neatly arranged fish braid decorated with fresh jasmine flowers, while soft strands around her face added a contemporary touch to the traditional appearance. Trisha also mentioned that she had done her own makeup for the function.
The event was held at Fort St George in Chennai on August 15. Trisha attended along with her mother and was seated in the front section of the gathering, close to Vijay’s parents, S A Chandrasekhar and Shoba Chandrasekhar.
Clips from the event subsequently circulated on social media, with one showing Trisha saluting Vijay attracting particular attention. Her choice to wear her mother’s saree also became a talking point among fans.
