Samantha Ruth Prabhu is stepping into a new television role as the host of the upcoming Tamil edition of ‘Celebrity MasterChef’.
The actor expressed enthusiasm about taking on a project outside her usual screen work and said the cooking format offered something fresh for her. She also highlighted the ability of food to bring people together.
The Tamil version will feature familiar personalities from the entertainment industry competing in cooking-based challenges. Samantha said she was eager to watch the participants navigate the kitchen, try unfamiliar techniques, recover from mistakes and compete under pressure.
The names of the celebrity contestants have not yet been revealed. Samantha has indicated that the identities will remain a surprise for viewers until the makers are ready to announce them.
‘Celebrity MasterChef Tamil’ is adapted from the international ‘MasterChef’ franchise and is expected to showcase Tamil culinary traditions alongside the competitive reality-show format.
The programme is scheduled to air on Sony Vizha and stream on Sony LIV. An official premiere date is yet to be announced.
