Samantha Akkineni is making use of the lockdown period to enrich her career. Through online, she has been taking acting classes via Masterclass by Hollywood actress Helen Mirren.
Along with a picture of her pet Hash lying by the pool as she takes a class, Samantha posted: “When you literally had one productive hour in a 1000 and must show it off .. (I am a going to be a much better actor now just you wait and see … if not ………. I will just be deleting this post)”.
The 74-year-old Helen Mirren is known for her roles in films such as ‘The Queen’ and ‘Red’ etc. Excelling on stage with the National Youth Theatre, her performance as Cleopatra in ‘Antony and Cleopatra’ in 1965 saw her invited to join the Royal Shakespeare Company before she made her West End stage debut in 1975.

She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance as Queen Elizabeth II in ‘The Queen’, the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play for the same role in ‘The Audience’, and has won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie four times.
Mirren’s other Academy Award nominations were for ‘The Madness of King George’ (1994), ‘Gosford Park’ (2001), and ‘The Last Station’ (2009). For her role as police detective Jane Tennison on the British television series Prime Suspect, which ran from 1991 to 2006, she won three consecutive BAFTA Awards for Best Actress between 1992 and 1994, and two Primetime Emmy Awards.
