Fans of Ajith Kumar gathered at select theatres across Chennai on September 6 for a special screening of the trailer of his upcoming motorsport documentary, ‘Gladiators: In Pursuit of Challenges’.
The 3-minute-40-second trailer introduces Ajith’s deep connection with motorsport, with the actor discussing the expansive world of racing and describing endurance events as one of the sport’s toughest challenges.
A major highlight is the appearance of Shalini Ajith Kumar, marking her first on-screen appearance in almost two decades. She speaks about Ajith’s determination to pursue his passions and explains that his return to racing was driven by more than the desire to win trophies.
The trailer ends with Ajith expressing his love for motorsport before raising the Indian flag before a crowd.
Directed by AL Vijay, ‘Gladiators: In Pursuit of Challenges’ explores Ajith’s life as a racer and his experiences away from the film industry. The documentary features footage from his motorsport career, including his participation in endurance racing and international events.
Instead of launching the trailer online first, the makers opted for a theatrical premiere, allowing Ajith’s fans to experience the footage on the big screen.
Shalini Ajith Kumar is producing the documentary under Golden Trophy Film Production, with GV Prakash Kumar composing the music. AL Vijay and Ajith had previously collaborated on ‘Kireedam’.
