During its “Netflix Pandigai” event, the streaming giant unveiled a powerhouse lineup of 12 Tamil films set to join its platform in 2026.
The slate is headlined by massive star vehicles including Suriya 46 (directed by Venky Atluri), D55 (Dhanush’s collaboration with Rajkumar Periasamy), and Karthi’s maritime action-drama Marshal.
Suriya 46 is generating particular buzz as a family entertainer in the vein of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, exploring a unique romance between a middle-aged businessman and a younger woman played by Mamitha Baiju.
Other notable titles in the acquisition list include Suriya 47, directed by Jithu Madhavan, and the rural drama Karuppu starring Suriya and Trisha.
This strategic move reinforces Netflix’s dominance in the South Indian market, ensuring they host the most talked-about Kollywood projects across various genres, from period crime hunts to light-hearted romantic comedies.
