JioHotstar unveils the gripping trailer of Hotstar Specials’ Lingam, streaming from June 26

Chennai, June 8, 2026: JioHotstar unveiled the trailer of its upcoming Hotstar Specials Tamil original, Lingam, offering audiences an intense glimpse into a world shaped by crime, power, betrayal and revenge. The series is set to stream from June 26, exclusively on JioHotstar.

Inspired by incredible true events from the southern districts of Tamil Nadu in the 1990s and early 2000s, Lingam is a gripping crime and revenge saga that follows the explosive transformation of a kabaddi player whose life is changed forever after he is accused of murder. What begins with dreams of honour, identity and a future in uniform soon spirals into a violent journey through injustice, survival and vengeance.

The trailer opens in the charged world of kabaddi, where a crucial match holds the promise of transforming the protagonist’s life and taking him closer to his dream of becoming a police officer. But fate takes a brutal turn when a player is killed, and the blame falls on him. Framed for a crime he did not commit, he is pushed into a dangerous world he never wanted to enter, eventually becoming a feared name.

Featuring Kathir, Divya Bharathi, Poornima Ravi and Sathya in pivotal roles, Lingam brings together emotional drama, action and crime-thriller elements rooted in the cultural and social textures of Tamil Nadu. Written and directed by Lakshmi Saravanakumar, showrun by Prasanth Pandiayaraj, and produced by Vikatan Televistas, the series promises a raw, high-stakes narrative that moves from the intensity of the kabaddi arena to the darker corridors of power, violence and revenge.
