Actor Silambarasan aka STR has praised director Raja Karuppasamy’s recently released rural comedy ‘Modha Rathri’, while making a special appeal to producers to help promising small-budget films reach a wider audience.
After watching the film, Silambarasan took to social media to appreciate the new team and the film’s grounded storytelling. He noted that audiences often celebrate interesting films from other languages and suggested that Tamil films attempting something different should receive similar encouragement.
The actor particularly highlighted the film’s single-night setting, which unfolds around a village wedding. He appreciated the writing, humour, characterisation and the natural way in which the characters interact with one another.

Released worldwide on August 21, ‘Modha Rathri’ follows the events surrounding a village wedding that gradually turns chaotic, with misunderstandings, comic situations, surprises and emotional moments unfolding through the night.
