The makers of ‘Dorothy’ have unveiled the film’s second single, ‘Muthumani’, offering listeners another glimpse into the musical world of the upcoming film.
The track features veteran composer Ilaiyaraaja, who has written and composed the song and also shares vocal duties with Shweta Mohan. The release marks another milestone in his remarkable film career, with ‘Dorothy’ being associated with his 1,540th film composition.
Directed by Bharath Muralidharan, the music video features Ilaiyaraaja and Shweta Mohan, along with visuals of lead actor Keerthy Suresh. The film’s first single, ‘Kalyana Virundhu’, was released earlier.
‘Muthumani’ has received an enthusiastic response from music enthusiasts, particularly for its fusion of electronic and Indian musical elements.
Written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, ‘Dorothy’ is set in rural India during the early 1990s. The film explores friendship, compassion and hope against a backdrop shaped by caste, violence and social prejudice.
Keerthy Suresh headlines the cast, with Rishikanth and Sananth also playing key roles. ‘Dorothy’ is scheduled to hit theatres on September 25. The film is also set to have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
