Varalaxmi Sarathkumar has revealed that she would enter politics in future. She has said in this an interview to promote her direct OTT release ‘Danny’.
The actress, who has played some powerful roles in Tamil and Telugu films, said, “I’m not planning to foray into politics next year. But in the next few years, I will enter for sure.”
She added: “However, there are no plans to join my dad’s political party and other existing parties for now. Currently, I’m actively involving in the Save Shakti NGO. Our country needs people who boldly voice out their opinion.”
She said that though she fights for the rights of women, and that does not mean that she hates men. “In the Sathankulam incident, the cops have committed a crime that doesn’t mean that the entire force is wrong. Similarly, the entire men community shouldn’t be blamed for sexual harassment crimes”, she added.
Having played negative roles already, she said, “Today, content is the real hero. If I get a good script, ready to even play the baddie.”
