Actor Vishal has fuelled speculation about a possible political career after making remarks that many believe hint at his future plans.

The discussion comes soon after Dhanush’s speech at a blood donation camp organised by his fan club triggered similar rumours. Earlier, actor Raghava Lawrence had also spoken about his political aspirations. Many observers have linked these developments to actor Vijay’s successful transition into politics, which eventually saw him become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Speaking at a recent public event, Vishal said he wanted to give back to people who had supported him throughout his acting career. He also stated that the path ahead would not be an ordinary one and that he intended to follow a straightforward approach while standing by the people.

Although the actor stopped short of confirming any political plans, his comments have led to widespread speculation on social media.

On the film front, Vishal is directing ‘Magudam’, marking his debut behind the camera. The project was originally announced with Ravi Arasu as director before Vishal took over the role.

The film also stars Anjali, Dushara Vijayan, John Vijay, Jayaprakash, Ajay, Vamsi Krishna, Abu Salim, Arjai, VJ Jhansi, Padam Kumar and Sabhumon. It is slated to hit theatres on August 14, where it will compete with Suriya’s ‘Vishwanath & Sons’ and Kavin’s ‘Hi’.

Vishal also has Sundar C’s ‘Purushan’ in the pipeline. The film, which features Tamannaah and Yogi Babu, marks the actor’s fourth collaboration with the director after ‘Aambala’, ‘Madha Gaja Raja’ and ‘Action’.
