Actors Vimal and ‘Parotta’ Suri were fined Rs 2,000 each by the Tamil Nadu Forest department for trespassing into a forest area in Kodaikanal recently.
The incident that happened on July 17 came to light a few days ago after photos of Vimal and Suri fishing in Berijam Lake surfaced on social media. Following this, residents and activists made an outcry and a complaint was lodged with Kodaikanal Deputy Superintendent of Police Aathmanaban.
In the meantime, the Forest department has levied Rs 2,000 fine each on the actors. It is also learnt that an eco-watcher and two anti-poaching watchers have been sacked for helping Vimal and Suri.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Vimal confirmed in a recent interview that he will be working with Vijay Sethupathi in a film titled ‘Kulasami’. Vimal also said that Vijay Sethupathi will be handling the dialogues and screenplay for the film, apart from playing a never-before-seen character.
