Sivakarthikeyan has opened up about his journey as a leading actor, telling his fans that his stardom was created by their support rather than by his own efforts alone.
Speaking at a fan gathering in Chennai on Sunday, the actor described himself as a “people-made star” and said the affection of audiences has been central to his growth in the film industry.
Sivakarthikeyan also addressed the criticism that has followed his career. He said those determined to find fault with him would continue to do so, while making it clear that the gathering was about the bond between him and his supporters.
The actor’s comments come as he enters another important phase of his career, with several projects lined up.
Among them is ‘Seyon’, his upcoming collaboration with director Sivakumar Murugesan. Sivakarthikeyan revealed that roughly 60% of the film has been completed and described it as an action-packed entertainer designed with his fan base in mind.
The project was earlier expected to arrive in October 2026, but the actor has now indicated that the release is being planned for Pongal 2027. The film went into production earlier this year and has already completed its first shooting schedule.
‘Seyon’ features Sivakarthikeyan alongside Raj B Shetty, Bhagyashri Borse, Seeman, Bala Saravanan, Arul Doss and Singampuli. The film is directed by Sivakumar Murugesan, who previously made his directorial debut with ‘Thaai Kizhavi’.
For Sivakarthikeyan, the upcoming film represents another attempt to combine commercial entertainment with a different setting and treatment. With the production now more than halfway complete, the focus is shifting towards preparing the film for its Pongal 2027 release.
The actor’s latest interaction with fans also underlined the importance he places on their support, as he continues to build his career beyond his early days in television and mimicry.
