Music composer Sai Abhyankkar has joined the team of Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film, tentatively titled ‘SK27’. The project marks his first collaboration with the actor as a composer.
Written and directed by Ramkumar Balakrishnan, who made his directorial debut with the acclaimed film ‘Parking’, the upcoming entertainer will feature Kayadu Lohar as the female lead. The film also marks her first on-screen collaboration with Sivakarthikeyan.
Although ‘SK27’ will be Abhyankkar’s first project composing for a Sivakarthikeyan film, he previously worked as a singer on ‘Salambala’, a track from the soundtrack of ‘Madharaasi’, which was composed by Anirudh.
The film’s technical crew includes cinematographer Om Prakash, editor R. Kalaivanan and art director A. Rajesh. Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan are producing the project under the Sathya Jyothi Films banner, with T. G. Thyagarajan presenting it.
Ramkumar Balakrishnan gained widespread recognition with ‘Parking’ (2023), which won the National Film Award for Best Tamil Feature Film. The filmmaker also received the Best Screenplay award, while M. S. Bhaskar was honoured for Best Supporting Actor.
Abhyankkar has several other projects in his upcoming lineup, including Dhanush’s ‘Om’, Bakkiyaraj Kannan’s ‘Benz’, Karthi’s ‘Marshal’ and Atlee’s ‘Raaka’, featuring Allu Arjun. His recent composing work includes the Vijay Sethupathi-starrer ‘Baththa’.
Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan is also preparing for ‘Seyon’, directed by Sivakumar Murugesan. Kayadu Lohar’s upcoming projects include Mari Selvaraj’s ‘Manjanathi’ and T. J. Gnanavel’s ‘Suriya 48’, in which she will share screen space with Suriya.
