“RMV: The Kingmaker” is not just a biographical documentary; it unveils the Legacy of a
Kingmaker – RMV Ayya. It is a profound journey into the life of a visionary who shaped Eras in
both Cinema and Politics. The film stands as a tribute to ‘Arulalar’ RM Veerappan Ayya, a man
who redefined leadership, loyalty, and the cultural narrative of Tamil Nadu. The film traces his
remarkable journey from his early association with Thanthai Periyar and Arignar Anna, to
becoming the trusted pillar of Puratchi Thalaivar M. G. Ramachandran (MGR) shaping both
Tamil cinema and the political identity of Tamil Nadu.
The Film features Interviews and Insights from Thiru M.K.Stalin, Hon. Chief Minister of Tamil
Nadu, Thiru. Rajinikanth, Thiru. Sarathkumar, Thiru. Illaiyaraja, Thiru. Sathyaraj, Thiru.

The RMV-Effect on The Orange Economy of India:
RMV Ayya’s Vision for the Film Industry, Tamil Literature, Culture based Political Ideologies in
1960’s, the way he connected Content, Creativity and Culture was way ahead of the discovery
of Orange Economy as outlined by the Hon. Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi at WAVES
India Summit in 2025. During the summit our beloved PM declared that this is the dawn of
the ‘Orange Economy’ in India, emphasising “Content, Creativity and Culture” as its 3 pillars.
The foundation for this Orange Economy was already laid by very few stalwart Film Producers
that includes Thiru R.M. Veerappan Ayya through his production house Sathya Movies and

and The Golden King Studios. This collaboration honours the cinematic legacy of Arulalar Thiru
RM Veerappan Ayya and aims to preserve Tamil history and culture for future generations.
About the Producers: The documentary is lovingly produced by Thangaraaj Veerappan,
beloved son of Arulalar RM Veerappan Ayya and the General Manager of Sathya Movies.

About the Director: The documentary is directed by Binu Subramaniyam, known for his
ability to portray truth and history with clarity, depth, and emotional authenticity. His
research-driven approach, narrative style, and sensitive visual storytelling form the creative
backbone of this film. As part of the filmmaking process, the team travelled to Arulalar RM
Veerappan Ayya’s birthplace, engaging with local residents to gather firsthand accounts,
memories, and lesser-known historical details. Extensive research and personal interactions
were conducted with experts and notable personalities across diverse fields—cinema, politics,
literature, spirituality, ISRO scientists, historians, and cultural leaders—adding depth and
credibility to the narrative.
