Veteran Telugu actor Rajendra Prasad has issued a video apology following the backlash regarding his comments on the legendary MGR.
The controversy erupted after Prasad made certain “lighthearted” remarks about the late Puratchi Thalaivar during a recent award function.
In his statement, the actor clarified that he has immense respect for MGR and that his words were “misinterpreted” by a section of the media.
“If my words inadvertently hurt the sentiments of the Tamil people or MGR fans, I sincerely apologize,” the actor stated.
The South Indian Actors Association (Nadigar Sangam) has acknowledged the apology, effectively cooling down the industry tension.
