At a time when Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s alleged suicide, which is said to be due to the prevailing nepotism in film industry, has sent shock waves across the country, Shanthnu Bhagyaraj has claimed that such practices are there in Kollywood too.
““#Nepotism இங்கேயும் உள்ளது.. அதே குருபிசம் நபர்கள் தான் நம்முடன் யார் வேலை செய்ய வேண்டும் என்பதை தீர்மானிப்பார்கள்…,” posted Shanthnu, who is currently part of Vijay-starrer ‘Master’ and other movies.
The ‘Sakkarakatti’ and ‘Siddhu Plus Two’ actor added: “தரத்தை பராமரிக்க அவர்கள் ஒரு சிலரை ஆதரிக்கிறார்கள், மற்றவர்களை தங்கள் தரத்தை அதிகரிக்க அனுமதிக்க மாட்டார்கள்.”
Already, Oscar-Grammy winning music composer A R Rahman and Oscar-winning sound engineer Resul Pookutty have alleged that people were working against them in Bollywood.
Recently, Shanthnu’s father and veteran actor-filmmaker K Bhagyaraj said, “I agree that star kids will get the opening into the film industry easily. But the backing of star parents alone will not help the actor kids. There are numerous star kids who are still struggling.”
