A day after a crane accident on the sets of ‘Indian 2’ that killed three persons and injured 10, the film’s protagonist Kamal Haasan visited the hospital where the bodies of the three deceased were kept and paid his homage.
Speaking to the media, he requested for safety precautions while shooting films. He also announced Rs one crore for the families of the three people who died on the sets of ‘Indian 2’.
Not just Kamal, but many in the industry have called for increased safety measures at film shoots and appointment of safety officer for such big budget movies.
Among the dead was Krishna, who was son-in-law of veteran journalist and cartoonist Madhan. The 29-year-old married Madhan’s younger daughter Amitha a few years back. Both Amitha and Krishna have made many advertisements in the past. The other two victims are Madhu and Chandran.
Subaskaran, Chairman of Lyca, which is bankrolling ‘Indian 2’, reached India from the UK on Thursday. Sources said the production house will be offering financial support to the families of the deceased.
