Composer GV Prakash Kumar has revealed that he was once lined up to collaborate with Vijay on another film, but the project could not progress because of scheduling and scripting delays.
Prakash, who previously composed for Vijay’s ‘Thalaivaa’ and ‘Theri’, said discussions were underway for a third collaboration. The proposed film was being considered with either Sudha Kongara or Vetri Maaran as director.
Speaking to SS Music, Prakash explained that both filmmakers needed about a year to develop their respective scripts. During that period, Vijay moved ahead with ‘Beast’, and the opportunity to reunite with the composer eventually slipped away.
Prakash also spoke highly of Kongara’s proposed Vijay project, describing the script as a particularly strong one. He said there was even an attempt to develop the same idea with Kongara and Mahesh Babu, but that version did not materialise either.
The composer has previously worked extensively with both filmmakers. His collaborations with Kongara include ‘Soorarai Pottru’ and ‘Parasakthi’, while his association with Vetri Maaran goes back to ‘Polladhavan’ and also includes ‘Aadukalam’, ‘Visaranai’ and ‘Asuran’.
