‘Dhruva Natchathiram’, the long-awaited spy thriller starring Vikram and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, has taken a significant step toward release after years of delays. The film, which has been in production for nearly a decade, has faced numerous obstacles, including financial and legal complications that repeatedly postponed its arrival in theatres. Although promotional material released several years ago generated considerable excitement among audiences, the project has yet to reach the big screen.
In a recent legal development, the Madras High Court dismissed an appeal challenging an earlier order that cleared the way for the film’s release. Reports indicate that financiers Punniyamurthy and Premkumar had sought to overturn the ruling, which permitted the makers to release the movie before June 15. However, a division bench comprising Justices P. Velmurugan and Thilagavathi upheld the previous order, providing a positive outcome for the filmmakers and production team.
Despite receiving permission to release the film by the specified date, the makers were unable to complete the process within the deadline. Director Gautham Vasudev Menon subsequently approached the court requesting an extension until July 15. The matter was heard by Justice K. Kumaresh Babu, who adjourned the case to June 17 for further consideration. A decision on the extension request is expected during the next hearing.
The film features an ensemble cast led by Vikram, alongside Simran and Ritu Varma in important roles. Marketed as an action-packed espionage drama, *Dhruva Natchathiram* has maintained strong interest among moviegoers throughout its prolonged production journey. With the latest court ruling favoring the project, supporters of both Vikram and Gautham Vasudev Menon are hopeful that the film may finally be released after years of uncertainty and anticipation.
