Leaving his millions of fans in deep shock and grief, legendary singer S P Balasubrahmanyam passed away this afternoon. He was 75 and is survived by wife, son S P Charan and daughter.
Though there were rumours since morning about his health condition, the news of his demise was first confirmed by director Venkat Prabhu, a family friend.
On Thursday evening, SPB’s health condition became extremely critical, said MGM Hospital where he was getting treatment for the past some weeks.
A health bulletin issued late evening said, “His condition in the last 24 hours has deteriorated further warranting maximal life support and he is extremely critical.”
“The team of experts at MGM Healthcare are closely monitoring his health condition,” it added.
