“Oho Enthan Baby”

– Review

Ashwin (Rudra), an aspiring filmmaker approaches actor Vishnu Vishal (playing himself) with a script. When his initial pitch doesn’t land, Vishnu challenges him to narrate a love story.

What unfolds is Ashwin’s own journey through love, presented in three distinct chapters of his life.

These chapters explore different stages of relationships, from youthful infatuation to mature understanding, and the personal evolution of the protagonist.

The central conflict arises as Ashwin, heartbroken after his girlfriend Meera (Mithila Palkar) leaves him due to his flaws, decides to turn his pain into a film, only to find himself questioning the climax of his own story and his reality.

Krishnakumar Ramakumar, with his background in ad filmmaking, makes an impressive directorial debut. He handles the “film within a film” trope skillfully, avoiding self-indulgence and maintaining a cohesive narrative.

The screenplay, written by Mukesh Manjunath with additional dialogues and screenplay by Sharadha and Mukesh Manjunath, is well-structured, allowing for smooth transitions between the different phases of Ashwin’s life.

The director strikes a beautiful balance between romance, family emotions, and subtle humor, keeping the audience emotionally engaged throughout.

Rudra, making his acting debut, delivers a confident and engaging performance. He convincingly portrays Ashwin’s journey through various phases of his life, from a lovestruck teenager to a more reflective and wiser man.

Mithila Palkar, in her Tamil debut, is a revelation. She brings grace, warmth, and emotional depth to her role as Meera, a mature doctor, and truly shines in every frame.

The supporting cast provides solid backing. Karunakaran, as Rudra’s uncle, acts as an emotional anchor, delivering both comedic and heartfelt moments with ease.

Vishnu Vishal’s extended cameo is impactful, adding weight to the narrative, particularly during crucial turning points in Ashwin’s storytelling. Director Mysskin also appears as himself.

Harish Kannan’s cinematography is a visual treat. Each frame is aesthetically pleasing, capturing the mood of different life phases.

Jen Martin’s music is pleasant and complements the film well. Rest of the technical aspects of the movie are good.
