In a move to address the recent piracy crisis surrounding Vijay’s final film, ‘Jana Nayagan’ , the South Indian Film Editors Association (SIFEA) has suspended editor Pradeep E. Raghav.
The association cited “negligence” and a recurring violation of union bylaws—specifically the hiring of non-union members as assistants—which reportedly contributed to the environment where the five-minute footage leak occurred.
While the committee clarified that Raghav was not directly responsible for the leak, his admission of professional lapses led to the immediate suspension of his membership.
This decision serves as a stern warning to the industry, with SIFEA President V. Gopikrishna stating that such disciplinary measures are essential to protect the integrity of big-budget productions and prevent future security breaches.
