Samantha’s ‘Maa Inti Bangaaram’ creates history with Rs 100-crore global collection

Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu is celebrating a major milestone after ‘Maa Inti Bangaaram’ surpassed Rs 100 crore in worldwide box office collections. The film has become the first woman-led Telugu production to achieve the feat, marking a significant moment for female-centric cinema.

Sharing the news with fans, Samantha posted a video capturing her reaction when filmmaker Raj Nidimoru surprised her with the latest box office figures. After looking at the collection update on an iPad, the actor smiled with delight and exclaimed that the film had reached the Rs 100-crore mark.

Along with the celebratory moment, Samantha reflected on the uncertainty the team faced before the film’s release. She recalled that she often wondered whether the film had generated enough awareness among audiences.

The actor also shared an incident involving an exhibitor from a B-centre, who reportedly expressed doubts about the commercial prospects of a film led by a woman without the support of a major male star. Samantha said the conversation highlighted the challenges that women-led films continue to encounter in the industry.

In her note, she said meaningful change requires people to take chances despite the possibility of failure. While acknowledging that such risks do not always succeed, she said the film’s performance had proved that audience acceptance could defy conventional expectations. She expressed hope that the success of ‘Maa Inti Bangaaram’ would encourage exhibitors and the industry to view female-led projects with greater confidence.

The post drew congratulatory messages from colleagues and fans. Actor Kajal Aggarwal praised Samantha and the team for their achievement, while many social media users described the film’s success as a landmark moment for Telugu cinema.

Directed by Nandini Reddy, ‘Maa Inti Bangaaram’ has been created by Raj Nidimoru and produced by Raj, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Himank Reddy Duvvuru under the Tralala Moving Pictures banner. The action thriller follows the journey of a retired assassin who is compelled to confront her past after her family’s safety is threatened.
