Prabhas’ ‘Fauzi’ generates strong business ahead of release

Prabhas’ upcoming pan-Indian film ‘Fauzi’ is already attracting significant attention in the trade market well before its theatrical debut. The big-budget period action drama is currently in production and is expected to arrive in cinemas in December 2026.

According to industry reports, Netflix has secured the film’s digital streaming rights for the South Indian languages in a deal estimated at around ₹180 crore, making it one of the highest-value OTT agreements for a Telugu production. Reports also suggest that AA Films has acquired the Hindi theatrical distribution rights for over ₹60 crore.

While the South-language streaming rights have reportedly been finalised, the Hindi digital rights are still available. Industry insiders believe several major OTT platforms are likely to compete for them. In addition to digital and theatrical revenue, the producers are expected to generate substantial income through satellite, music and other post-release rights.

Filming is progressing as planned, with the team preparing to shoot a major action-packed interval sequence. Prabhas is expected to join the schedule along with the principal cast, and the sequence is said to be one of the film’s standout moments.

The film introduces Imanvi to Telugu cinema as the female lead opposite Prabhas. The supporting cast features Anupam Kher, Jaya Prada, Mithun Chakraborty and Chaitra J. Achar in important roles.

Backed by Mythri Movie Makers, ‘Fauzi’ is reportedly being produced on a budget of around ₹700 crore, placing it among the most expensive Indian films currently under production. The music is composed by Vishal Chandrasekhar.
