Producer Bhushan Kumar has teamed up with actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty and filmmaker-producer Sandeep Singh for a major historical project titled ‘The Pride of Bharat – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’.
T-Series has joined the venture, which is planned as a two-part cinematic portrayal of the legendary Maratha ruler’s life, leadership and vision of Swarajya.
The film aims to bring the story of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to a wider audience, exploring his achievements, military campaigns and lasting influence on Indian history.
To mark the collaboration, Bhushan Kumar presented Rishab Shetty with a painting of Shivaji Maharaj believed to be around a century old, reflecting the team’s respect for the historical icon.
Speaking about the project, Kumar said the story carries a significant responsibility and deserves to be presented with the respect it commands.
He expressed confidence in Rishab Shetty’s ability to portray a historical figure of such stature, citing the actor’s screen presence and capacity to bring powerful characters to life.
Kumar also described the film as more than an entertainment project, calling it an opportunity to celebrate Shivaji Maharaj’s legacy and introduce his ideals to audiences across generations.
The two-part saga is expected to cover major battles, sacrifices, victories and lesser-known aspects of the ruler’s life. The narrative will highlight his strategic brilliance, military leadership, courage and determination to establish Swarajya.
