Yash gets emotional about India’s storytelling legacy at ‘Ramayana’ premiere in Los Angeles

Actor Yash, who will portray Ravana in the upcoming epic ‘Ramayana’, has spoken passionately about India’s storytelling traditions and the importance of introducing the country’s cultural heritage to international audiences.

The actor attended a special premiere event for ‘Ramayana’ at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles. Director Nitesh Tiwari, producer Namit Malhotra and co-stars Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi were also present at the event.

Yash arrived with his wife, Radhika Pandit, and received an enthusiastic welcome from fans gathered at the venue. Supporters cheered for the Kannada superstar as he made his way along the red carpet.

During his interaction at the event, Yash spoke about the pride he felt in representing the Kannada film industry and Indian cinema on an international platform.

He emphasised that a person’s beginnings should never determine the heights they can achieve. He also pointed out that ‘Ramayana’ is much more than an ordinary cinematic narrative, given its deep cultural and historical significance.

The actor further explained how stories from the epic have survived across generations because they are not merely narrated but remembered, cherished and passed down through families and communities.

According to Yash, India’s storytelling heritage has travelled across thousands of years, and presenting such a significant cultural work to the world offers an opportunity to share the country’s values and traditions with a wider audience.

Producer Namit Malhotra also praised Yash’s involvement in the ambitious project. He revealed that the actor’s contribution extends beyond his performance, as Yash is also associated with the film as a production partner through Monster Mind Creations.

Recalling their initial meeting in Los Angeles, Namit highlighted how Yash’s confidence in the project complemented his own vision and helped bring their collaboration together.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Ramayana’ features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The film also includes Ravi Dubey as Lakshmana and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. The ambitious adaptation is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 5, 2026.
