‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ is set to release worldwide on April 28th. As part of the film’s promotions, lead actors Trisha Krishnan and Jayam Ravi changed their Twitter names to their character names, Kundhavai and Arunmozhi Varman, respectively.
However, this resulted in them losing their blue verified tick on their official handles.
Although the actors had changed their names during the release of the first installment, no action was taken against them then.
Trisha later reverted to her original name to regain the verified mark but has yet to receive it.
The film, directed by Mani Ratnam, is an adaptation of Kalki’s epic novel Ponniyin Selvan. The first installment was a huge success, grossing high box office numbers.
Ponniyin Selvan 2 is also making history as the first South Indian film to be released in 4DX.
