Arvind Swamy-Trisha’s ‘Sathuranga Vettai 2’ gets fresh hope as release efforts gather momentum

After remaining unreleased for several years, ‘Sathuranga Vettai 2’ appears to be moving closer to a theatrical release.

The sequel features Arvind Swamy and Trisha in the lead, with N V Nirmal Kumar directing the film and H Vinoth credited with the story. The cast also includes Daniel Balaji, Nassar, Radharavi, Dheeraj Rathnam, Sriman, PV Chandramouli and Kambam Shankar.

The latest development came after distributor and theatre owner Tiruppur Subramaniam reportedly intervened to help resolve the issues surrounding the film. Speaking during a conversation with Chitra Lakshmanan, he discussed his attempts to facilitate its release and his discussions with financier Madurai Anbuchezhiyan.

According to reports, Anbuchezhiyan has agreed to support the release without demanding an immediate payment. The financier is said to have indicated that his share could be settled after the film earns revenue, giving the long-delayed project a renewed opportunity to reach theatres.

The film’s prolonged delay had also been a matter of concern for the late actor-producer Manobala. Reports suggest that he remained determined to get the project released and spent considerable time trying to overcome the obstacles. If the current efforts succeed, the theatrical release could also serve as a tribute to Manobala’s commitment to the project.
