Vijay Deverakonda has expressed strong confidence in his upcoming film ‘Ranabaali’, describing it as a project that could bring lesser-known historical narratives and traditional folklore to a wider audience.
The film, which stars Rashmika Mandanna opposite Vijay, is scheduled to release in theatres on October 16. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan and produced by Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar Yelamanchili under Mythri Movie Makers, the period drama has generated interest with its historical themes.
The makers unveiled the trailer on Thursday, offering audiences a closer look at the film ahead of its theatrical debut.
Addressing the launch event, Vijay said the film explores stories of heroes and historical events that, according to him, have not received sufficient attention in mainstream accounts. He highlighted the role of folk traditions and burrakathas in preserving such narratives across generations.
The actor expressed hope that ‘Ranabaali’ would introduce these stories to audiences around the world and allow viewers to experience the historical setting on the big screen.
Vijay also praised Rahul Sankrityan, with whom he previously collaborated on ‘Taxiwaala’. He recalled being impressed by the director’s writing during their earlier project and said the script of ‘Ranabaali’ left an even stronger impression on him.
The actor described the new film as one of the most compelling scripts to emerge from Telugu cinema this year, expressing confidence in its storytelling and scale.
With Vijay and Rashmika leading the cast and Mythri Movie Makers backing the production, ‘Ranabaali’ is gearing up for its October 16 release. The trailer launch has added to expectations as the team prepares to bring its blend of history, folklore and drama to theatres.
