Actor Sundeep Kishan is expanding his slate of projects with ‘Karikaala’, an ambitious film that was officially launched with a traditional pooja ceremony on Thursday.
The project will be directed by Ugandhar Muni, with Mahidhar Reddy and Rajashekhar Annabhimoju producing it under the Shining Pictures banner. The film is expected to combine elements of folklore, fantasy, mythology and adventure, alongside contemporary social themes.
The makers had previously revealed the film’s three female leads: Catherine Tresa, Sakkshi Mhadolkar and Gayatri Bharadwaj. Their casting adds to the anticipation surrounding the project as the production team prepares to bring its larger-than-life story to the screen.
The film marks another collaboration between the producers and director Ugandhar Muni, who previously worked together on the fantasy entertainer ‘Shambhala’, starring Aadi Saikumar.
The launch ceremony was attended by several members of the film industry, who extended their wishes to the cast and crew. Aadi Saikumar gave the project an auspicious start by directing its first shot, while Veera Brahma Chari, the father of producer Rajashekhar Annabhimoju, presented the film’s script.
The makers are planning ‘Karikaala’ on a substantial scale, with the narrative expected to draw on folklore and mythological influences while incorporating adventure and social elements.
Sundeep Kishan, who recently appeared in the Tamil-Telugu release ‘Sigma’, has several other projects in the pipeline, including ‘Power Pet’, which is currently in production.
With ‘Karikaala’, the actor adds another ambitious project to his upcoming lineup. More details about the film’s storyline, technical team and release plans are expected to emerge as production progresses.
