The makers of Hindu epic ‘Ramayana’ are reportedly exploring a theatrical release in China as part of the film’s global strategy.
According to reports, discussions are underway with Chinese exhibitors and distributors regarding a promotional campaign featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, and Sai Pallavi. The proposed itinerary is said to include appearances at the Pingyao International Film Festival, followed by promotional events across multiple Chinese cities during the Golden Week holiday.
China has previously played a major role in the worldwide success of Indian films, with ‘Dangal’ becoming the highest-grossing Indian film largely due to its exceptional performance in that market.
If the reported plans materialize and the film connects with Chinese audiences, ‘Ramayana’ could significantly expand its international box office. However, the release strategy has yet to receive official confirmation from the makers.
