Speaking to international media, the ‘Baahubali’ and ‘RRR’ maker that he is an independent filmmaker who only seeks to make quality films that are not affiliated with any political party.
Rajamouli also made it clear that he has never supported any political agenda and will continue to make films that are free of political influence.
“Baahubali series is not a distortion of history, as the characters in the film are fictional, meaning that they are not real people, but instead were created for the purpose of the film. If you feel that it is a distortion of history, Mayabazar will also be considered the same as Baahubali,” he said.
Rajamouli added: “Speaking of RRR, it is a work of fiction, meaning it is not based on a true story. The events and characters portrayed in the film are not real, and any resemblance to actual people or events. They may represent real people or situations, but the characters themselves do not exist. When the first look poster of Jr NTR as Bheem released, some started accusing us for showing the actor wearing a Muslim skullcap, and a national party leader threatened to burn down the theatres premiering RRR if we didn’t remove the cap.”
He signed off by saying: ”So, I completely reject this accusation. I have never had any affiliation with any political party, and I have always maintained a neutral stance when it comes to politics. My work speaks for itself, and I have never sought to influence anyone’s political views.”
