A fierce competition has emerged over the Telugu theatrical rights for Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial ‘Coolie’, starring Superstar Rajinikanth and featuring Nagarjuna Akkineni in a pivotal role.
Top contenders include actor Nagarjuna himself, popular producer Naga Vamsi, and major distributors Asian Sunil and Dil Raju.
Sources suggest that all the competitors have submitted their bids to the production house Sun Pictures.
Reports said that Naga Vamsi has reportedly made the highest bid so far with an impressive Rs 42 crore.
However, there are speculations that Nagarjuna might be given prioroty because of his involvement in the film as a lead actor.
‘Coolie’ is slated for a grand release on August 15, directly clashing with the much-anticipated War 2.
Given the star power involved and expectations for thr movie and the competitive bids, the Telugu rights deal is expected to be finalised shortly.
