Mahesh Babu has paused his shooting schedule for SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus, ‘Varanasi,’ to embark on a short family holiday.
The actor, who is playing a dual role including Rudhra—an archaeologist-explorer—is taking a well-deserved breather from the intensive production.
‘Varanasi’ is one of the most ambitious and expensive Indian films ever made, reportedly on a budget of Rs 1,300 crore, and is conceived as a globetrotting epic action-adventure with time-travel elements rooted in Indian culture.
The film also stars Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran and is scheduled for a grand release in 2027.
This short break is typical for major productions, allowing the lead star to recharge before returning to the demanding schedule.
