In a bold career move, celebrated music composer Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) is officially transitioning to the big screen as a lead actor.
He will headline the upcoming rural drama ‘Yellamma’, directed by National Award-winner Venu Yeldandi, the filmmaker behind the critically acclaimed Balagam.
Produced by Dil Raju under the Sri Venkateswara Creations banner, the film’s first glimpse was unveiled during the Pongal festivities, introducing DSP as a character named “Parshi.”
The teaser showcases a rugged DSP seated in quiet meditation by a river while a storm brews, signaling a narrative deeply rooted in folklore, nature, and spiritual themes.
National Award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh is in talks to play the female lead, potentially creating a fresh and emotionally resonant on-screen pairing.
Interestingly, DSP will also be composing the film’s music, pulling double duty for his debut project which is slated for a late 2026 release.
